Tired of the drugs and looking for real help with fibromyalgia. This may be the pathway for you.
Fibromyalgia or Fibromyalgia syndrome is a persistent and potentially debilitating, widespread, chronic pain condition of more than 3 months duration which can affect both adults and children.
In a majority of cases, the fibromyalgia condition does not go away by itself.
However, it may be better managed or significantly improved with gentle, relaxing and stress releasing Network chiropractic care.
In addition to exhaustion and joint pain, Fibromyalgia symptoms can include:
- poor sleep
- abnormal sensitivity to touch
- abdominal pain
- irritable bowel syndrome
- joint and body stiffness
Juvenile Primary Fibromyalgia Syndrome affects 1.2%-6.2% of this population of children and adolescents. It seems that up to 80% of teens with fibromyalgia may continue to suffer the symptoms into adulthood. Kashikar-Zuck, S, et al. Long-term outcomes of adolescents with juvenile-onset fibromyalgia in early adulthood. Pediatrics 2014. doi: 10.1542/peds.2013-2220.
Fibromyalgia appears to affect far more women than men, and the incidence increases with age, with around 12% of women in their 60’s being affected.
This is in accord with my own clinical experience. Many people coming into the clinic report having had the fibromyalgia symptoms year after year – some up to 20 or more years. And some go for years before even being diagnosed because the fibromyalgia condition is often not well understood even by health professionals.
This makes it really important, not only for adults but for young people as well, to find effective therapy as early as possible to reduce the impact of fibromyalgia symptoms and increase the likelihood of enjoying a better, more normal life.
Fibromyalgia can be treated with gentle, relaxing Network Chiropractic, which is the technique we prefer to use here at Better Life Chiropractic. Within days to weeks, your aches, pains and fatigue may start to ease.
This treatment is safe for adults and children as it does not involve force or pressure on the spine, joints or sensitive tissues of the skin.
